Backpacking in Yellowstone National Park, August/September 2016
Join our group of five MOAC adventurers as we spend eight nights on the trail in Wyoming and Montana, starting with five nights in the northwest corner of Yellowstone National Park, including an ascent of ~11,000' foot Electric Peak.
Then, after one restorative night of hot-tub wallowing and intensive fluid replenishment therapy in West Yellowstone, we take on the spectacular and rugged Beartooth Plateau Loop, just outside the park, where we'll pass numerous pristine alpine lakes and tackle the navigational challenges of off-trail travel in this high-altitude wilderness.
We'll also take a quick drive through Yellowstone National Park, stopping to enjoy its abundant wildlife, waterfalls, and geothermal features.
