SUMMARY:Pleasant mountain Mothers Day hike
DESCRIPTION:Moderate  hike for experienced hikers to the open summit at 2006 ft. The elevation gain is 1500 ft. 3.6 mi RT. We may add a little more heading over to Bald peak and back or doing a loop down Bald Peak Trail which would be about 6 miles with road walk at end.  Approx 3-4 hour hike. Likely we will stop on the way home for a beverage/food.  The pace will be mod fast. Bring water\, extra clothes. There was snow last weekend at 2000 ft. Probably don’t need traction. \nMust be fully vaccinated!  Text if you would like to join. No show n go’s. Carpool from Portland area is possible. \nStart time is 10 am at Trailhead.

SUMMARY:Ossippee River Trip
DESCRIPTION:I have run this river trip for MOAC most years since joining the club back in 1998. 7 miles of Class 2 whitewater. This is not a raft trip. Canoes and or Whitewater Kayaks are the river craft used here. I need to chat with interested participants to understand their level of experience and what gear they are bringing. We have had occasional out of boat experiences (I had one early on) and want to make sure participants have the proper gear in case of an unplanned swim. The water is still cold and hypothermia is a significant concern if one leaves their boat. We usually stop for lunch along the way. We usually have significant fun doing this. We may also have some folks join us from the Penobscot Paddle and Chowder Society (another outdoor group here in Maine that concentrates on water sports). If interested\, give me a shout. Bob
