DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a weekend of star-gazing (it’s a dark sky area)\, hiking\, the AstroLab observatory\, and more at the Parc National du Mont Megantic\, just north of the NH-ME border in Quebec. There are campgrounds\, cabins/chalets and hotels in the area.  Three of us are staying at cabins with water and electricity\, but you can camp nearby.   There is info on the web about the Park at tourism-megantic.com \nWe three are staying in cabins  (chalets dans les arbres) at the website listed below.

DESCRIPTION:Weather is not looking good. rain and thunderstorms.  Would make for a dangerous trip.  I will try to reschedule. \nJoin me for a hike on the beautiful Franconia Ridge Trail.  Ridge line hiking\, with magnificent views. \nMeet at Lafyette Place parking lot \nUp Falling waters trail\, across the ridge\, and down Old Bridle path.  8.9 miles total.  I may continue to Mt. Garfield to get more miles in preparation for a 2 day Pemigewasset loop in a few weeks. \n
