SUMMARY:Kayak Camping Brick Island August 24-25
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to kayak 10 miles down the Kennebec River with best friends you never met before. We will kayak from Richmond to Brick Island in Merrymeeting Bay\, camp on the island at a group campsite\, and spend the day kayaking in the area. Bring lunch\, dinner\, and something to share. We will have a campfire on Saturday evening and swap kayaking stories. We will kayak locally on Sunday morning and return to Richmond at 1 pm\, arriving in Richmond at about 4 pm. \nWe will meet at the Richmond Boat Launch at the intersection of Rt. 197 and Rt. 24 at 7:30 a.m.\, launch by 8 am\, and should land on Brick Island at about noon. \nParticipants must have at least a 14-foot sea kayak\, wear a PFD and sprayskirt\, and know how to perform an assisted rescue. The trip is limited to eight people. \nTo register\, email me at us1863@gmail.com. Please include your cellphone number for last-minute communication. I don’t want the group to leave and have someone arrive five minutes late.
