SUMMARY:Baxter Weekend- Double Top Mountain Hike
DESCRIPTION:This is a 7 mile out and back hike of Double Top that starts at the Nesowadnehunk Field Campground at the Doubletop Mountain Trail.  Meet at the trailhead at 11am. It should take around 4 to 5 hours depending how long we take. This is a strenuous hike so plan accordingly. \nDoubletop Mountain (north peak 3\,489 feet\, south peak 3\,455 ft) guards the western edge of Baxter State Park (BSP)\, its tufted\, twin summit ridge looming like the profile of a slumped\, pudgy Dark Knight. The views of this signature BSP mountain are impressive\, as its unique profile and steep drops make for a formidable photo over Nesowadnehunk Stream or from the rugged peaks to its east. \nFor those who like hiking lists.
