SUMMARY:Walk in Alewive Woods for Mother’s Day
DESCRIPTION:Lets meet in Alewive Woods\, a 625 acre property conserved by the Kennebunk Land Trust for a 2.5 mile walk.  The parcel offers a 45-acre pond in the middle of the trails.  Leashed dogs are permitted and allowed to swim.  Happy dogs!  The site includes a red-pine plantation created after the fires of 1947.  Trail head is on Cole Road\, Kennebunk.  Text or call Eileen at 207-749-0211\, so I’ll look for you and potentially we can carpool from Scarborough Exit 42 at Cabellas.  Folks from the south\, meet at the trail.  Non-members\, invited by members to attend\, are welcome!! \nDirections: From the intersection of Route 1 (Main Street) and Fletcher Street (Route 35) in Kennebunk\, proceed west on Fletcher Street for 1.8 miles. After crossing I-95 bear left on Alfred Road and drive 3.0 miles. Bear right on Cole Road and drive 0.7 miles. The entrance to the parking lot for Alewive Woods Preserve is on your right (Lat: 43° 25’ 50” N; Lon: 70° 37’ 19” W). \nPlease note: Some GPS apps indicate the trailhead is on Gardener’s Way\, which is incorrect. The entrance to the parking area is off of Cole Road\, by the KLT Preserve sign.
