DESCRIPTION:This meeting will be streamed on Zoom.\nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/89814026218?pwd=3WaL561ckaq7gf159GgB9CAc9S4cl0.1 \nMeeting ID: 898 1402 6218\nPasscode: 109386\nBob MacKinnon will share his 6\,200 mile sailing trip “Across the South Pacific and around Cape Horn” on the sailing vessel Bark Europa. \nBeginning his journey in Auckland\, New Zealand\, MacKinnon sailed as a working member of the crew for over 50 days\, ending his trip in the Falkland Islands. \nThis voyage around Cape Horn is very rarely done now\, given the notoriously dangerous weather and sea conditions at the “Horn.” \n  \nBob joined MOAC back in 2000. Besides sailing\, Bob also enjoys hiking\, backcountry skiing\, climbing and recently took up competitive running\, which consumes much of his time. He is a veteran of over 25 trips to the Swiss Alps where he dabbles in mountain running\, alpine climbing\, hiking and beer drinking. He has done 13 marathons\, just completing his second Boston Marathon in April 2025. \nCome at 6:30 to socialize and help set up.
