SUMMARY:Night sky adventure stay for seniors at AMC Medawisla Lodge and Cabins
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a 3 nights getaway in the middle of Maine at AMC’s Medawisla Lodge and Cabins in the Maine Woods Initiative area geared to seniors but open to all. We have timed our stay to take advantage of dark skies to enjoy a sky full of stars without having to stay up late. Whether you enjoy easier trails in the woods\, climbing mountains\, off road biking or paddling\, you can find something to do here. However\, you can also just enjoy sitting on the porch at the lodge or down at the lake. Bring your own kayak or canoe or use one available there. \nWe are holding the Meadow Bunkhouse with 16 bunk beds\, a 2 bedroom cabin with 1 queen and 2 twins\, and a 2 bedroom cabin with private facilities with 1 queen\, 1 double and 1 twin (held for the group until 8/1/2025 – after that time it will be open for general reservations). Before you register\, please contact Michelle Moody to get price information in case there are any price changes. Price for the bunkhouse as of 6/21/2025 was $238.71 per person including tax based on extended stay for 3 nights with an AMC membership.  Prices are not guaranteed until booked. Non-member rates are higher. Cabin prices will vary based on how many share a cabin. All meals are included from dinner our first night to a packed lunch on the last day. SUMMARY:Outdoor Concert at Conant Homestead\, Wstbk
DESCRIPTION:The final outdoor concert for the season will feature singer songwriter Carolyn Shapiro. She is a hidden gem.\nCarolyn plays the claw hammer banjo style. Her songs are very moving\, personal and rich with imagery. She weaves her love of rivers within many of them. Not a common instrument to solo on her banjo playing is very unique and takes the claw hammer style to new places. Carolyn hails from upstate New York where she was 2022 Folk Artist of the Year in the Capital Region. She has a wonderful voice and is a delight as a performer.  She performed at the Ossipee Valley Music Festival recently and made a big impression with her talent.
