DESCRIPTION:Join a trip to Concord\, Massachusetts to experience the life of Henry David Thoreau and his companions. A bus will leave the Wishcamper Center on the USM Campus at 8:00 AM for a ride to the Old Manse in Concord\, where Emerson and Hawthorne lived – Thoreau planted a vegetable garden there as a wedding present for Hawthorne and his wife. \n\nLunch: We’ll figure out where to eat outside or bring your own lunch.\nAfter lunch\, we’ll have a private tour of Walden Pond provided by guide Richard Smith.\nTickets are $95 through the Osher Lifelong Learning Center to include transportation\, admission fees for the Old Manse\, and the guided tour. DESCRIPTION:We will meet at Evergreen Cemetery\, 672 Stevens Ave\, Portland (across from Baxter Woods).  This is a 3.1 mile trail through and around the cemetery.  Trail may be damp so plan accordingly.  Weather looks to be good for Saturday.  Let’s open our eyes and ears for the coming of Spring!
