DESCRIPTION:We’ll hike and gaze for 5-6 hours.  We’ll hike about six miles\, I expect depending on the group’s interest. Call or text Eileen 207-749-0211 for meeting place and times. The Nordic course is on the scale of the Olympics\, designed by an international competitor\, the former ski jump was World Class\, the downhill area and lodge are owned by the community\, the alpine touring and glade skiing have boomed over the last decade with the all-volunteer trail cutters\, the Angry Beavers\, to name a few! \nCome experience the Adroscoggin Valley with foliage. We’ll stop in at The Lure restaurant\, see the Rumford Falls and view the iron sculptures depicting our native people living on the river.

SUMMARY:Westbrook River Walk and Rivermeadow Nature Preserve
DESCRIPTION:Join me in exploring one of Westbrook’s newer nature preserves right along the Presumpscot River. We’ll start downtown at Riverbank Park (677 Main St)\, by the playground. Then we’ll wander along the River Walk\, cross the Presumpscot and head out to the Rivermeadow Nature Preserve\, off of Lincoln St. The website says this area is forested wetlands\, so it might be a bit muddy. The whole walk should be a little more than 3 miles. No stress pace. Show and go.
