SUMMARY:East End Amble and Maine GearShare’s Gear Again Festival
DESCRIPTION:Let’s meet at Maine GearShare (155 Washington Avenue\, Portland\, Maine 04101) at 10:00am\, do a scenic stroll along the East End Trail and reconvene for their Gear Again Festival and Market.  There you can shop at their annual bike sale or peruse the sustainably crafted items from local businesses at the Maker’s Market!  Bonus: free gear repairs while we enjoy a beer courtesy of Maine Beer Company.  Food will be available for purchase.  Time it just right and you can combine this outing with Marie Snyder’s Portland city walk & Festival Champlain in the afternoon!  There’s also a political event in Deer Oaks starting at 1:30pm – the kind where you’re extremely unlikely to see many red hats.  Imagine how righteous you’ll feel packing so much into a crisp New England fall Saturday! \nNote: event time is 10:00am – 2:00pm\, but the Gear Again Festival itself goes until 4:00pm. \nDetails about the Gear Again Festival: https://www.mainegearshare.org/about-gaf?utm_campaign=Trail+Log+October+2026&utm_medium=email&utm_source=constant_contact

DESCRIPTION:Meet at 2:00pm at Sacred Heart/St Dominic in the Parkside neighborhood for an approximately 3-mile walk past some historic Portland architecture and a few coffee shops. Finish at Portland Museum of Art at about 3:30\, in time for the 4pm film that is part of the Festival Champlain. Stay for the movie (“Once Upon My Mother”\, in French with English subtitles) and the free reception afterward at State Street Church\, if you like. Starting point: 65 Mellen St\, Portland.
