AFTER-WORK PADDLE RUNAROUND POND (dog-free)
Runaround Pond in Durham is tiny, intimate and profoundly rural. It is just perfect as a two-hour after-work outing. This is an easy trip, suitable for all canoes and kayaks.
We’ll meet at the put-in at 5:30 p.m. Bring canoes/kayaks, paddles, PFDs, bug spray, etc.
The put-in is on Runaround Road in Durham, marked on the DeLorme Atlas/Gazetteer Map 5, Sector B-5. [It’s at the right edge of the map.]
No vetting. NO DOGS.
Call leader if you’d like to paddle but don’t have a boat of your own. (Leader has extras.) Scott Andrews 773-9609 (home/machine) or 776-4273 (cell). Email is schussme@yahoo.com.
For historical background, participants are encouraged to play the classic Dion hit: “Runaround Sue.” Here’s the YouTube link:

Girls and boys named “Sue” are especially invited on this paddle.
