Runaround Pond in Durham is tiny, intimate and profoundly rural. It is just perfect as a dog-free after-work paddle. This is an easy paddle, suitable for all canoes and kayaks. Post-paddle chow-down at Buck’s Naked BBQ in Freeport.
We’ll meet at the put-in at 5:45 p.m. and plan to shove off and paddle at 6 p.m. Off the water at sunset, which will be about 7:45 p.m.. Bring paddles, PFDs, bug spray, etc.
The put-in is on Runaround Road in Durham, marked on the DeLorme Atlas/Gazetteer Map 5, Sector B-5.
Show-n-go. No dogs! Call leader if you’d like to paddle but don’t have a boat of your own. (Leader has extras.) Scott Andrews 773-9609 (home/machine) or 776-4273 (cell). Email is email@example.com.
After take-out, we’ll head for Buck’s Naked BBQ in Freeport.
