DESCRIPTION:  \nIntroduction to Mountain Hiking – Progressive Series\nHike #5 Pleasant Mountain  \nHave you been wanting to try hiking\, but don’t feel up to the bigger hikes?  This is the final hike in this series.  We started small and have been doing progressively harder hikes.  This hike is a good moderate hike.  If you’re unsure what equipment & clothing you need\, you can learn that too\, so you can have a safe and enjoyable hike.   This is the fifth hike in the series. \nHere’s the plan for this last hike: \nAugust 20 – Pleasant Mountain\, Bridgton/Denmark\, Firewarden’s Trail.  5.0 mi\, 1500’\, 4hours.  AllTrails description & map. \nEach hike is scheduled for a Saturday.  The rain date will be the next day (Sunday).  I’ll keep track of the weather as each hike gets close.  \nBy reservation only.  Maximum of 8 people.  Contact me by email to make a reservation.  More details before the hike.

For carpool: \nMeet at: 11:00 am at West Falmouth Park & Ride next to Hannaford or 11:30 am\, Exit 63 Park & Ride in Gray. \nFor the hike: \nMeet at trailhead at 1:00 pm. Hit the trail at 1:15\, done by 3:30 – 4:00 pm. Drive to Frenchman’s for late afternoon swim – supposed to be hot out. SUMMARY:3 nights at Baxter State Park
DESCRIPTION:I have reservations for 3 nights at Baxter State Park\, August 22-24th in a lean-to at Nesowadnehunk Field. My son has a knee injury and can’t come\, so I m looking for one or two others to join me. I plan on hiking the Brothers and hopefully Hamlin peak\, but I don’t expect you to hike what I am hiking.  Right now the weather is not looking great\, but I am hopeful that it will improve.

SUMMARY:Hike Crockers and Redington
DESCRIPTION:Hike North and South Crocker following the AT from Caribou Pond Road. Then hike over to Redington from South Crocker on the herd path. Reports are that it’s well traveled and has been marked with tape but there are blowdowns to navigate. It’s 6.5 miles out and back for the Crockers and add another 3 miles out and back for Redington. It’s steep but wonderful views on South Crocker. \nIf interested\, we could stay at the AT tent site Friday night and hike the peaks Saturday. \nCall or text Lisa @423 4732 for times and car pooling.
