SUMMARY:Hike the new East Windham Conservation Area
DESCRIPTION:Hike the new East Windham Conservation Area\n \nWhat: 3.1 miles through this preserve that opened earlier this month. The surface is wide gravel roads\, then rooty woods trails. Some moderate hills. We’ll go along Little Duck Pond and see boulders. If the weather is clear\, we should be able to see Mt. Washington. The blackflies are out in force\, so be prepared. Bring a snack for a rest break. Hunting is allowed. No dogs\, please. \nWhen: Monday\, May 20\, 9:30 am -12:00 \nWhere: 187 Falmouth Rd.\, Windham. Look for the large signs at the road. If you’re coming from Falmouth\, it’s immediately before the utility corridor. Drive straight back to the large parking lot (the road on the right is just for construction traffic). \nWho: Laura Williams. SUMMARY:Mansell Mountain–Southwest Harbor
DESCRIPTION:This is a loop hike to Mansell Mountain\, using the following trails–Perpendicular\, Mansell\, and Cold Brook.  Distance is 2.4 miles\, elevation gain is 870 feet\, book time 2 hours and 20 minutes.  The Perpendicular Trail is an interesting trail with 1\,000 stone steps\, several iron rungs\, and one iron ladder.  It is referred to as the “stairway to heaven”.  The trailhead is at the Long Pond pumping station.  Directions are:  Follow Seal Cove Road in Southwest Harbor.   At .6 mile\, take the first right onto Long Pond Road and follow until the end.  I am not sure if a park pass is required but I would make the assumption that it is.

SUMMARY:Cadillac Mountain -- South Ridge Trail
DESCRIPTION:Hike to the summit of Cadillac Mountain via the South Ridge Trail.  Distance is 6.4 miles round trip\, elevation gain is 1\,375 feet\, and book time is 2:20 one way.  Park along Route 3\, trailhead is about 50 yards west of the entrance to Blackwoods Campground.  Meet at the trailhead at 9:30. Bring lunch and plenty of water.
