SUMMARY:HIKE MORSE MOUNTAIN & SEAWALL BEACH - PHIPPSBURG
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a peaceful hike through the conifers along a woods road through the Bates – Morse Mountain Preserve that ends at the expansive and picturesque Seawall Beach and return.  We will meet at the Bates – Morse Mountain parking lot and step off at 11 AM and return to the parking lot around 2 PM.  As there are areas along the road with moderate grades\, plan on bringing cleats given recent weather events. For those that wish\, bring a light lunch to enjoy at the beach. As we will be on the beach during the ebb tide\, there should be a generously wide berth and somewhat firm footing available for hiking. Although temps are predicted to be in the low 40’s the day of the hike\, be prepared in the event of off-shore winds. Take Maine Route 209 through Phippsburg to the point where the road continues straight on to Maine Route 216.  GO STRAIGHT ON TO MAINE ROUTE 216 at this point. Approximately 0.8 miles down 216\, look for a road sign on the left for Morse Mountain. The parking lot will be about 500 feet up that road on the left.
