SUMMARY:Paddle Quahog Bay Friday 9-2 from Bethel Point
DESCRIPTION:We’ll meet at the public boat launch (all-tide) at Bethel Point in Harpswell about 9:30 AM and start paddling about 10 AM. This boat launch has a porta-potty and an all-tide ramp. There is a $6 parking fee. \nThe tide will be low about 9:45 AM\, so we’ll paddle into Quahog Bay with the tide as it comes in\, following the shore (as close as we can get)\, exploring some coves that aren’t mud flats and stopping for a lunch or snack break on Little Snow Island (owned by the town of Harpswell). Plan on about a six-to-seven-mile paddle. \nThis trip is weather dependent\, but as of Aug 31st\, it looks like a good day with little wind. This bay is also somewhat protected. \nYou must have a sea kayak and wear a PFD. Spray skirts and wet suits are recommended. This trip is for intermediate paddlers. \nPlease contact me if you plan to go — by email (preferred)\, betsy.hanscom@gmail.com or phone\, 207-754-9692 (text). If I need to cancel for weather conditions or whatever\, I will be able to contact you directly.

SUMMARY:Paddling and fun at the Lake
DESCRIPTION:Join me for a gathering at camp to celebrate Labor Day (Monday looks cold\, so I’m going with Sunday!).  Come for an hour or two\, or stay for the afternoon and evening.  Please RSVP for address.   lmitchell75@aol.com \nWe may head out for a paddle around 4:00 depending on interest\, but anyone would be welcome to go out whenever.  Bring your boat or borrow one of mine (I have sit on tops\, paddle boards and a canoe.  Also a sail board if it’s windy enough.  Or just relax and eat\, drink and be merry! \nWe’ll fire up the charcoal grill around 5:30.  BYO food and drinks.  If you want to bring something to share\, that’s okay\, but some are still leery of sharing communal dishes\, so it’s more BYO than official pot luck.
