DESCRIPTION:Runaround Pond in Durham\, ME\, Wednesday\, May 11\, 2022 — Weather dependent. 10 AM – 2 PM. \nWe’ll meet at the put-in at 10 AM and start paddling about 10:30. There is an outdoor facility at the put-in. This is a fairly sheltered area. This paddle is weather dependent. Please contact me by email (preferred)\, betsy.hanscom@gmail.com or phone\, 207-754-9692 (or text). \nThere are not any public places to get out of the boats that I know of except at the put-in. We can paddle the major arm of the pond\, return to the put-in and have lunch (bring your own)\, then paddle the other arm for those who are so inclined. \nFor more info\, Runaround Pond is written up in the QUIET WATERS MAINE book.

SUMMARY:Ossippee River Trip
DESCRIPTION:I have run this river trip for MOAC most years since joining the club back in 1998. 7 miles of Class 2 whitewater. This is not a raft trip. Canoes and or Whitewater Kayaks are the river craft used here. I need to chat with interested participants to understand their level of experience and what gear they are bringing. We have had occasional out of boat experiences (I had one early on) and want to make sure participants have the proper gear in case of an unplanned swim. The water is still cold and hypothermia is a significant concern if one leaves their boat. We usually stop for lunch along the way. We usually have significant fun doing this. We may also have some folks join us from the Penobscot Paddle and Chowder Society (another outdoor group here in Maine that concentrates on water sports). If interested\, give me a shout. Bob
