SUMMARY:MOAC August Meeting: Skydiving!
DESCRIPTION:Join as Darrell Ferguson talks all things skydiving. Bucket list item? Curious? Darrell will answer all your questions. \nDarrell is a true adrenaline junky and has been for his entire life. Aside from a 30-year skydiver\, he is also a land and seaplane pilot\, scuba diver\, and raced motocross for years and still rides frequently. He can be found on a Harley\, mountain bike\, fat bike\, canoe\, paddleboard\, kayak\, waterski\, jet ski\, barefoot ski. If it’s fun and can be done outdoors\, he’s probably tried it. \nIn addition to the speaker\, the meeting is a chance to hear about recent outings\, hear about upcoming outings\, and socialize with other MOACers.  It’s also a chance for new or prospective members to ask questions.  Meeting begins at 7:00\, but come at 6:30 to socialize and meet people. \nLocation: the Allen Avenue Unitarian Universalist Church\, 524 Allen Avenue\, Portland (near Northgate Shopping Plaza).  Here’s a Google Map link.

DESCRIPTION:Buxton 250th celebration: parade at 11am on from lower Main Street (at Depot St) to River Rd (south to Rte 202). \nActivities\, craft vendors\, face painting\, kids activities\, GREAT raffles for kids bikes and big giraffe stuffed toys\,  and food trucks during the day\, free daytime music\, evening ($$) Mallet Bros Band\, free fireworks at dusk (junction of Rte 202 and Rt 112) \nI’ll be at parade (at my drive)\, and at the evening fireworks. SUMMARY:Cousins and Chebeague paddle
DESCRIPTION:Great day for a paddle to cool off on the East side of Chebeague Island. Photo is from Thursday. Cousins Island to Chebeague paddle. Meet at 8:30AM at Sandy Point Beach on Cousins Island (parking lot and beach on your left immediately after crossing Cousins Island bridge) with boats in water at 9:00AM. Cousins to Little John to the beautiful beaches of Chebeague. Depending on effort/time Sand Island may be included. Return to Sandy Point by 3:30-4:00 PM. Requirements: 14 foot or larger kayak suitable for Casco Bay\, PFD\, bring your own water and lunch. TEXT me at 207-450-4707 if going. I did this paddle Thursday. It was fantastic! I just got a little carried away by also going to Little Chebeague! The SW wind carried me back in the afternoon.
