SUMMARY:MOAC Monthly Meeting – Yellowstone in Winter
DESCRIPTION:MOAC member (and board member) Marianne Hill will share slides and stories from her December 23- 28\, 2015  trip to Yellowstone.  Yellowstone has an eerie beauty in the winter as steam from hot springs dots or even shrouds the landscape.  Animals are easy to spot against the snow\, which averages over 13 feet deep near Yellowstone Lake.  Marianne visited Mammoth Hot Springs\, the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone; Yellowstone Lake; West Thumb geyser basin and more. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a festive holiday urban stroll around Portland to gaze upon the lights on Wednesday evening ~ December 14th. We’ll meet at the GLOBE sculpture in front of Casco Bay Lines Ferry terminal at 6pm – Wear comfortable walking shoes and plenty of layers.   It is forecast to be windy!   Walk for about 1.5 hours – we may stop during or after for a nosh and holiday toast! ~ Show and go – No limit.  Text if you’re running late and I’ll let you know where we are ~ 207-712-5699
