SUMMARY:Independence Day at camp
DESCRIPTION:Join me for my almost annual gathering for the 4th at camp.   Missed a few due to covid and weather.  🙂   I’ll be there by 2:30.  Bring a boat to kayak\, swim or just lounge around.  Come for an hour or two or stay for the duration.  Happy hour at 5:00\, light the grill around 5:30ish.  There are often fireworks to see around the lake\, but no guarantees for how close they might be.  Most folks head out for official fireworks in other locals as dusk sets in. \nStandard MOAC BYO food and drink and maybe something to share.  I’ll have charcoal and basic condiments (ketchup\, etc.) \nI have extra SUPs\, sit on top kayaks and other outside toys.  You MUST bring PFDs and whistles with you if you go on the water.  I have extra of those\, too.  Hit the contact button to get address if don’t know it already\, upper west side of Little Sebago Lake.

SUMMARY:Camping at Rangeley Lake State Park-Trip is Full
DESCRIPTION:Eileen’s Text: 207-749-0211  MOAC has reserved the East End Group Camping Site at Rangeley Lake State Park (RLSP) for three nights.  There is one larger area for group meals and hanging out with a fire.  Otherwise\, there are separate sites for each member(s).  This set-up allows for both privacy and social time with the group.  The park boasts a swimming beach with a grassy area and steps leading into the water where boats can be launched\, as well as two miles of walking trails.  MAP OF THE CAMPGROUND \nThere are plenty of options for activities at RLSP or elsewhere in the area:  hiking\, walking\, swimming\, boating and mountain biking.  Leaders will need to self-identify.  4k footer peak baggers or AT section hikers have options as well as.  Here are 28 walks and hikes within 20 miles of Rangeley.\nTop hikes in Rangeley area from All Trails\nVisit Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands online for more information and a printable map.\nFEE:  $30 per person for the trip regardless of how many nights.   Since the leader pays the balance upon arrival\, you will need to pay $30 upfront to reserve your space.  Sites will be claimed on a first come\, first serve basis.  Pay by Venmo @Eileen-Whynot.  It is probably too late to mail a check to me. \nFOOD:  As was the case in 2024\, the leader will provide grill-able meats and veggie options.  Otherwise\, the dinners will be potluck\, so plan on bringing food to share\, bring your own (BYO)  beverages\, plate and utensils.  BYO lunch and breakfast food or plan to eat out in Rangeley. SUMMARY:CANCELLED camp day in Gray
DESCRIPTION:CANCELLED – sorry\, the weather is bad and getting worse.  Tomorrow is also questionable\, so just going to cancel. \nShould be a great day weather-wise for hanging out at camp.  Swim\, nap on the hammock\, BBQ\, kayak or SUP.  Practice for Summerfest on Saturday! 🙂  I’ll be there by 2:00 and stay until dusk.  There’s a swim dock\, various floaty things\, and a few recreational kayaks and SUPs (though we won’t do a formal group paddle).  Or you can bring your own.  Come for a couple of hours when you can or stay for the duration. \nI’ll light up the grill around 5:00. BYO drinks and protein for the grill and a dish to share if you want to join the BBQ or just drinks and snacks if you come for a short time earlier or later. \nPlease RSVP and let me know what you expect your schedule will be  so I can plan for the BBQ.  207.807.2729 or lmitchell75@aol.com if you don’t already know the address.  I’ll supply charcoal for the grill and basic condiments.  And paper dishes and utensils\, but bringing your own reusables is welcome.
