For January we have chosen Bryn Greenwood’s “All the Ugly and Wonderful Things.”
“As the daughter of a meth dealer, Wavy knows not to trust people, not even her own parents. Struggling to raise her little brother, eight-year-old Wavy is the only responsible “adult” around. She finds peace in the starry Midwestern night sky above the fields behind her house. One night everything changes when she witnesses one of her father’s thugs, Kellen, a tattooed ex-con with a heart of gold, wreck his motorcycle. What follows is a powerful and shocking love story between two unlikely people that asks tough questions, reminding us of all the ugly and wonderful things that life has to offer.”
This novel was selected as Goodreads Best Fiction of 2016 Runner Up. We hope you can join us!
About the group: Our book club meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month.
We select the books usually two to three months in advance to allow time to obtain them from libraries and book stores as well as to allow the attendees to have a say in what we read next.
Looking forward to seeing you and hearing your thoughts, as always!
Attendance policy reminder: Please update your RSVP if your plans change prior to the event. Members are allowed two no-shows per year and then will be removed the group. We do keep the RSVP list open until the event in case of emergencies, etc – so if needed, changing your RSVP 15 minutes before will not count as a no-show.
