LL Bean hosts a lecture series on Friday evenings from January through April. These are events run by LL Bean. They are here on the MOAC calendar to make membership aware of them. Questions should be addressed to LL Bean. These events are held in the camping department atrium. MOACers often gather for a nightcap after.
Carey Kish is veteran hiker, outdoors and travel writer, Registered Maine Guide and certified “funmeister”. The author of AMC’s Best Day Hikes Along the Maine Coast and the Maine Mountain Guide, Kish has hiked two dozen of the world’s long-distance trails, including the 2,189-mile Appalachian Trail and the 2,650-mile Pacific Crest Trail. Two winters ago, Carey tackled the Florida Trail, a journey of over 1,000 miles on the least heralded and traveled of the country’s major footpaths. Join Carey as he makes the grueling trek from the Everglades to Pensacola Bay across an amazing landscape of sawgrass prairies and swamps to piney forests and palm groves, plus alligators, snakes and skeeters.
