LL Bean hosts a lecture series on Friday evenings from January through April. These are events run by LL Bean. They are here on the MOAC calendar to make membership aware of them. Questions should be addressed to LL Bean. These events are held in the camping department atrium. MOACers often gather for a nightcap after.
Pulled from the pages of the newest edition of the AMC Maine Mountain Guide, author/editor Carey Kish will lead us on a journey of discovery along some of the best trails Maine has to offer. Carey’s informative and entertaining talk will highlight many new hikes, near and far, as well as some old favorites.
Carey Kish is a veteran hiker, outdoors and travel writer, photographer, Registered Maine Guide and certified funmeister. Kish has completed two-dozen long-distance trails in the United States, Canada and Europe, including the 2,189-mile Appalachia Trail (once in 1977 and again in 2015) and the 1,100-mile Florida Trail in 2017. He plans to tackle all 2,650 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada in 2019.
Carey is a long-time MOAC and past president of the club.
