Andi is on the right in this picture. \nAfter hiking in every state\, Andi Bartlett has expanded her adventures and travels to 55 other countries. She and MOACer Mary Ann Mclaughlin (their 15th travel adventure together) along with twelve other people joined Overseas Adventure Travel’s November 11th to December 2nd trip “Ultimate Africa: Botswana\,Zambia & Zimbabwe Safari. Seven of us also chose to do the offered Pre-Trip to Safari in South Africa where we saw the”Big Five”! \n  \nCome to the meeting to learn more about this fantastic trip. \nThe experience was so interesting\, Andi will return to her fourth trip to Africa this Fall. This time it will be Overseas Adventure Travels\, “Namibia & Skeleton Coast: Africa’s Last Wilderness” with a Post-trip to Madagascar. \n \n__________________ \nIn addition to the presentations\, the meeting is a chance to hear about recent outings\, hear about upcoming outings\, and socialize with other MOACers. It’s also a chance for new or prospective members to ask questions. DESCRIPTION:Meet at Pineland Farms for miles of xc skiing or snowshoeing – take your pick. I will be on classic Nordic skis and intermediate/expert trails – beginners are welcome and there are great easy trails to choose from. The trails are also groomed for skate skiing\, and there’s a separate trail network for snowshoeing. Tickets are $20 for xc skiing\, $12 for snowshoeing. We can get lunch in the cafe after a couple hours skiing\, then go back out to the trails if people want a longer workout. They offer a bunkroom with beds that have privacy separations\, lights and curtains and also 5 private rooms. The bunk beds go for $40 per night and breakfast is included Plus\, we can use the kitchen for potluck suppers.\n\nDates are Sunday February 23rd to the 26th (Maine day at the ski mountain).\nYou make your own reservation by calling and they don’t need any money upfront! SUMMARY:Nordic skiing at Pineland Farms
DESCRIPTION:Meet at Pineland Farms for miles of cross country skiing on beautiful groomed trails. I will be on classic Nordic skis and intermediate/expert trails – beginners are welcome and there are great easy trails to choose from. The trails are also groomed for skate skiing\, and there’s a separate trail network for snowshoeing if you prefer. Tickets are $20 for xc skiing\, $12 for snowshoeing. We can get lunch in the cafe after a couple hours skiing\, then go back out to the trails if people want a longer workout. DESCRIPTION:This underappreciated side hike of the AT has stunning views and is a nice winter hike.  Must have snowshoes and traction.  Dress in layers\, carry water and food and first aid items.  I will carry a bivvy sack and fire starting stuff.  Shell pants and jacket and extra mittens are a good idea.  Let’s summit this gem!  Views of Flagstaff Lake and surrounding mountains from Cranberry Peak are spectacular!  Weather dependent\, of course.   Back up day in Wednesday.  Please call or text me.  Thank you.  207-749-0211.
