PADDLE DUNDEE POND (dog-free)
A small flotilla of dog-free canoeists and kayakers will paddle Dundee Pond, an impoundment of the Presumpscot River in Windham and Gorham. Our destination will be a small island where we’ll stop for lunch and swimming.
A repeat of a short midday trip offered two weeks ago.
Meet at 11 a.m. at the put-in, which is located on Windham Center Road, about half a mile west of the rotary (where it crosses River Road). The put-in is on the downstream side of North Gorham Dam.
Total paddling distance will be about three miles. This trip is suitable for relatively inexperienced paddlers and it makes an ideal first trip for new MOACers or prospective members.
It’s suitable for all types of canoes and kayaks.
Bring canoes/kayaks plus paddles, PFDs, drinking water, lunch, bug spray and sunscreen.
Trip is show-n-go. Advance reservations not needed. No quotas. No vetting. No mothering No whining. NO DOGS!
Don’t be left high and dry! Leader Scott Andrews has extra boats — several boat-less paddlers can be accommodated — but arrangements must be made in advance. Leader can often help pair up paddling partners.
Call Scott Andrews at 773-9609 (home/office/machine) or 776-4273 (cellphone) or email at email@example.com.
Trip wraps up at an ice cream shop!
