5:45 pm - 8:00 pm
The section of the Royal River (in Yarmouth) above the East Elm Street dam is perfect for a dog-free after-work paddle — very slow-moving flatwater — with optional pizza afterward.
Banks are mostly undeveloped, giving a very rural aura to this short and easy paddling adventure. This is easy paddling, suitable for all canoes and kayaks. Excellent introduction for new members. One of MOAC’s favorite evening trips!
We’ll meet at the put-in at 5:45 p.m. and plan to shove off and paddle at 6 p.m. We’ll do an up-and-back route, ending where we put in. Off the water at 8 p.m. — shortly before sunset.
Bring paddles, PFDs, bug spray, etc. The put-in is on East Elm behind the Yarmouth History Center (formerly the water department). Address is 118 East Elm Street.
Show-n-go. No reservations needed. No vetting. No mothering. No whining. No dogs!
Call leader if you’d like to paddle but don’t have a boat of your own. (Leader has extras.) Scott Andrews 773-9609 (home/machine) or 776-4273 (cell). No texts please. Email is email@example.com.
We’ll be off the water by 8 p.m., plus those who would like will head to one of three good pizza joints — many other items available on menu too!
