MOAC has a Trek team! Join us for this amazing cycling event!!
The Trek is a three day, 180 mile, supported ALA fund-raising bike ride across beautiful Maine. It’s a blast!
I have a limited number of free entries for the Trek for any new riders, so contact soon if you want one of these.
New course this year, Day 1-Brunswick to Lewiston, Day 2-Lewiston to Waterville, and Day 3-Waterville back to Brunswick. New tag line: Trek Across Maine, Cycle for Air. June 14-16th
The Trek raises money for the American Lung Association, a very worthy cause. The fund-raising minimum for the three-day option is $550.
Other options include: Two day option, June 15-16 with $400 fund-raising minimum, and One day option, June 16 with a $250 fund-raising minimum.
For 2018, MOAC had a nine member team, and raised a crazy amazing $18,018! Three members were in the top 25 for fund-raising for 2018, out of > 1000 participants. Currently, there are 12 team members signed up for this year.
Plenty of time until the ride, lots of fund-raising tools, and it’s a fully supported ride, and broken up into short blocks of about 15-20 miles between rest stops.
As mentioned, this is a very well supported ride, including accommodations, either camping or dorms, transportation for luggage, SAG wagons, meals, rest stops, and ride support, and treats each day!
We will be having training rides, and also join some other rides around the area, or you can train on your own if not living nearby. The Trek is not especially difficult, but you should be prepared with some mileage to manage the distances over the three days. Rest stops are spaced generally 15-20 mile increments.
The team can also have fund-raising events, which would defray the individual requirement.
And if interested, there are many volunteer opportunities!
Contact me if interested.
