MOAC has a Trek team! Join us!!
The Trek is a three day, 180 mile, supported ALA fund-raising bike ride across beautiful Maine. It’s a blast!
The Trek raises money for the American Lung Association, a very worthy cause. The fund-raising minimum for the three-day option is $550.
I have a limited number of free entries for the Trek, so contact soon if you want one of these.
Three day option, Ride Day 1, Friday Sunday River to Farmington, stay at UMF, Day 2, Saturday, Farmington to Waterville, stay at Colby, Day 3, Sunday, Waterville to Belfast.
Two Day Option: Ride Saturday in Loop from Colby, Sunday to Belfast.
One Day Option: New this year! Colby to Belfast on Sunday
Currently, most team members are arriving at Sunday River for registration by bus on Thursday 6/14/17. Bus tickets are on sale as of 4/1/17. Accommodations and other Thursday costs (meals) are outside the entry fee.
This is a very well supported ride. Accommodations, whether camping or dorms, meals, rest stops, and ride support.
We will be having training rides, and also join some other rides around the area, or you can train on your own or with other clubs if you don’t live near. The Trek is not especially difficult, but you should be prepared with some mileage to manage the distances over the three days. Rest stops are spaced generally 12-20 mile increments, although the first is a bit further.
There are many volunteer opportunities, as well!!
Most participants take a bus (tickets on sale on the site) to Sunday River on Thursday pm available from various locations, bus return from Belfast (“round trip”)
