SUMMARY:Sebago to the Sea Trail\, Section 6 – Portland
DESCRIPTION:Have you been curious about the Sebago to the Sea Trail? This is a 28 mile trail from Sebago Lake to Casco Bay. I’ve done 5 sections and would love some company on section 6 which starts at the Waste Management of Maine parking lot at 2000 Forest Avenue and ends on 9 Hope Lane off of outer Washington. The trail is about 3 miles and goes through Riverton Trolley Park (with it’s new pump track)\, past the golf course on Riverside\, down by the Presumpscot River and then winds through some neighborhoods on paved streets. SUMMARY:Libby River Preserve Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join me for a 1.75 mile walk at this Scarborough Land Trust site right next to Camp Ketcha. The area includes an observation deck overlooking the Libby River\, part of Scarborough Marsh\, and a wooded area with many skunk cabbage blooms (if you haven’t seen one\, they’re very unique). Bring your binoculars if you’re a birder. There are some muddy patches\, so boots are recommended and there are also multiple sections of a thin boardwalk over wet areas. If anyone is interested\, we can add some more mileage with a walk at Ferry Beach\, or along the Eastern Trail. Parking is limited at the Preserve\, so let’s meet at Black Point Community Park (160 Black Point Rd) at 1:00pm and carpool if needed. Show and go at the Community Park.

DESCRIPTION:Join me for a loop walk around Peaks Island to enjoy the ocean views\, the charming neighborhoods and do a short exploration of Battery Steele (which is now home to colorful graffiti). The walk is about 4 miles\, mostly flat. We’ll take the 10:15 ferry from Portland which costs $7.70. Make sure to leave enough time to find parking (I usually park on Munjoy Hill and walk down to the ferry terminal). Bring layers\, water and some lunch. We’ll probably take the 2:45 ferry back to Portland.
