SUMMARY:Sandwich Dome hike
DESCRIPTION:Sandwich Dome hike via Sandwich Mountain trail – Noon Peak\, Jennings Peak\, Sandwich Dome (elevation 3993). Return Drakes Brook trail. This is about a 9-mile round trip hike and is rated challenging. Below is a pretty good link with a description (cut and paste). \nThe trail head is located near Waterville valley off Route 49\, this is a 2-1/2 hour drive from Portland. I live NW of Portland so if carpooling is an option we could meet in Cornish. \nWeather is looking nice although windy 15 to 20 NNW\, mid 50s (high 40s with wind chill). \nBe prepared\, looks like water may be available on the decent from Drakes brook. I would say it will take about 5 hours to hike\, so it’s an all-day event. \nIf interested give me a call or text 207-329-2686\, can decide on a meet time and place. SUMMARY:East Royce Mountain Spruce Hill hike
DESCRIPTION:location Gilead Maine\, off 113 north of Fryeburg. \nTrail head from the parking lot (off 113) Bricket Place (Bickford Brook Trail). Hike will head North on Royce trail to Royce connector \,to East Royce trail\, to summit. \nDecent – East Royce Trail\, to Spruce Hill trail\, to summit of Spruce Hill. Spruce Hill summit decent\, continue on Spruce Hill Trail to Bickford Brook Trail. Back to parking lot. \nHike is just about 10.0 miles total gain 3300 ft\, areas of roots and rock slabs. \nBe prepared\, weather will be low: 30’s am\, high: 52\, winds 13mph NNW\, 11% chance of rain. \nPlease email if you have any questions. \n
